The Community Polytechnics Scheme was sanctioned up in thee year 1986 to help
dropped-out / BPL / rural / slum area young man-power in earning their livelihood by
getting training in different fields of skill development. The Institution has helped
many candidates to setup their own shops/establishments and made them self-employed.
This scheme is being rejuvinated by the GOvt. of India under the Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD).
Following are the phisical achievements of the Scheme since
inception till 31st March, 2007:
- As many as 735 male and 544 female candidates have got self/wage employment.
- 8393 persons, male and female, have been trained.
- Total number of Extension Centres that have been set up is 72.
- Total number of blocks covered under this scheme is 21.
- Total number of villages covered under Man-power Development and Training is 97.
