The Electrical Engineering Department was established in the year 1962-63 with intake capacity of 30 students and now intake capacity has been raised to 40 in the year 2001. The Department is imparting 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering. The faculty of the Department comprises HOD, two lecturers and four demonstrators / drawing instructors. The Department also provides theory and practical classes of Electrical / Electronics subjects of other branches like Civil, Mechanical, Automobile, Instrumentation & Control and Computer Engineering Departments.
The new curriculum in Electrical Engg branch has been recently revised under the World Bank scheme, which is industry oriented and practical based. Due to revision of New Curriculum many new subjects have been introduced in electrical Engg. Diploma courses such as Computer Programming and Application, Industrial Electronic & Control, Control of Electrical Machine Non- Conventional services of energy High Voltage Engg., Electronic Traction and Installation, Maintenance and repair of electrical Equipments/
In addition to these the students are also imparted training in different power station, substations Grid-station and other technical / Industrial Visits.
